Facebook Happenings for Dec. '09

Some things you might have missed on facebook.

Dec. 7, 2009
I read this story on facebook and loved it.  I want to do this when I have a house of my own one day.

“Good news is that I truly out did myself this year with Christmas decorations.  The bad news is that I had to take him down after 2 days.  I had more people come screaming up to my house than ever.  Great stories.  But two things made me take it down.  First, the cops advised me that it would cause traffic accidents as they almost wrecked when they drove by.  Second, a 55 year old lady grabbed the 75 pound ladder almost killed herself putting it against my house and didn’t realize it was fake until she climbed to the top (she was not happy).  By the way, she was one of the many people who attempted to do that.  My yard couldn’t take it either.  I have more than a few tires tracks where people literally drove up my yard.”

Dec. 20, 2009
Yay I have delivered all of our X-mas goodies and presents to everyone.  I’m all done with the X-mas shopping for our family, now I just have to wrap them.  Yay - I love having everything done.  Now we are off to our last family party and then we can just relax and enjoy being home and spending time with just us!!!  I’m so happy…
Comments:
Rhonda Wheeler Sanford - Good for you sweetie.
Jill Baggiore - Oooh..  I can’t wait to hang!!  And I can’t wait to meet that baby boy, whenever he decides to come!
Kris Kemp-Erickson - I know I wish you were here already, but closer to us!  I wish he would come already.  That sucks that you might have to wait until the house sells.

Dec. 30, 2009
Wants this cute baby out of me!!!
Comments:
August Trapper Bigelow - You can’t say it is cute or not yet!
Jill Baggiore - sure she can, we all know she makes cute babies.. so he has to be cute!
Kris Kemp-Erickson - Thanks Jill I do have to say I make cute babies so of course he will be cute as well.
August Trapper Bigelow - Yeah you were correct about the gender this time too, right?  RIGHT?
Kris Kemp-Erickson - Ouch, Trapper that was a low blow j/k.  I’m wrong one time and suddenly I’m not right on anything.  lol

Dec. 31, 2009
Hope everyone has a wonderful New Year’s Eve and many happy returns for the New Year to come!!!  I just hope I can stay up until the big moment – haven’t slept very well the couple of nights…
Comments:
Amanda Heiser - secret weapon: Naps! thank you and best wishes to you and yours for the upcoming new year!
Kris Kemp-Erickson - Yeah I’m going to be taking a nap (hopefully) here in the next few min.  You too, I hope this year brings good things for you guys…
Amanda Heiser - thanks - you too!

Christopher Turns 10!

I (Kris) can't believe that Chris is 10 years old today. He is getting so big. I hope that one day I will get to see him again. I know I will see him in heaven again, but it would be soooo nice to see him sooner rather than later.  I think about him every day and I am so grateful I had him. Happy Birthday Chris, I love you very much!!!

A New Update (11-3-09)

Hello all! It’s November, wow time sure is flying by… We have some good news! Jason has just a few more months of school - yay! He passed his national computer forensic test (I knew he would), but we are so excited. Which now makes him a Certified Forensic Examiner. I am so proud of him and all the work he has done to further his education and career. With being done with school (almost) and getting that test done, he can now put in his applications with NCIS, Department of Defense, CIA and Secret Service for their computer forensic departments (basically a prof. hacker for… the government or other companies). It will still be 2-3 months before we hear anything from them (due to background checks and so on). We are hoping to still be here when the baby is born, but who knows. We still don’t know where we will end up; it just depends on what they offer and where they want us to be at. We are still hoping for the Northwest or at least the West Coast, but there is a very good possibility we will end up in Virginia or the East Coast. He always has the option to go back and do computer programming, but for right now this is what he really wants to do. He likes it and that is always a good thing (if you have to work, than hopefully it will be something you enjoy doing). So that’s what is going on with him.

As for me I’m due at the end of Jan. (just about 2 month to go - yay). I’m looking forward to not being pregnant anymore, but this pregnancy has sure been easier than Sydney’s. So that is always nice. Not to say it's been a walk in the park, this pregnancy has been difficult, but not like Sydney's.

Sydney is getting big and blossoming as usual. She is a little over 1 ½ now. Going into the terrible two’s stage (Mom is loving this part, but not really). lol She is as cute as ever, but definitely has a mind of her own and isn’t afraid to let you know it!

Our little boy is doing very well and getting big. On our last check up with the Dr. he kicked the Dr. when he was listening to the heartbeat. He is pretty nice to Mom, doesn’t kick too much and for the most part staying out of my ribs. Let’s hope it stays that way… Mom is having a hard time breathing now and then and can only assume it will get worse as he gets bigger. Awww the joys of being pregnant. Anyways that’s about all that is going on with us! Hope all is well with you and yours. Take care and bye for now…

Facebook Happenings for Oct. '09

Some things you might have missed on facebook.

Oct. 16, 2009
Jason helped me get the house clean (yay) - he's such a wonderful husband.  Had a nice nap, still not feeling very good.  Throwing up isn't very fun.  Now feeding Sydney some food (she called it nummies).  And trying to figure out what to make for dinner???
Comments:
Nicole McFadden - Will you two come and clean my house?  I swear I clean this place every day and I’m never here!  How does that work?
Irene Nowyckyj Johnson - Sort of like sitting in a airplane and getting filthy fingernails - how does that happen?

Oct. 19, 2009
Cleaned the kitchen cabinets and now just getting some oatmeal cookies out of the oven. Yum!
Comments:
Irene Nowyckyj Johnson - With or without raisins? I love oatmeal cookies… WITH raisins.
Kris Kemp-Erickson - Oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips, that’s the best!

Oct. 30, 2009
Hates it when people don't show up and especially call when they aren't going to make it to their appointments or scheduled times to meet someone!!! It's just rude and inconsiderate... People take time out of your busy schedules and the least you can do is call and say you are not going to come.
Comments:
Nicole McFadden - EXACTLY! A 2 second phone call would be nice!
Amanda Heiser - I totally agree!
Jennifer Davis - No kidding!
Kaitlynn Heath - sorry I didn’t even wake up until noon and then I just spaced im really sorry I should have called.
Jill Baggiore - doh!
Kris Kemp-Erickson - No it wasn’t you Kaitlynn…  We already scheduled to do it on another day, remember…  lol  Silly girl!

Kids... And the Things They Do

We ate some dinner, watched a move and now I'm waiting for my cute hubby to come home.  Still need to get Sydney ready for her bath - gotta love the juice she put in her hair.  I'm still not sure if she thinks it's gel or mouse or what???  Kids... they do the funniest things sometimes.

Facebook Happenings for Sept. '09

Some things you might have missed on facebook.

Sept. 2, 2009
Made some pumpkin pies, got some laundry going, now I still need to pack for our trip to St. George.
Comments:
Crystal Donaldson - Can I come to your house?  Pie, clean laundry and vacations... sounds fun!
Jill Baggiore - Amen

Sept. 15, 2009
Notice: I don't do/play yoville, farmtown, mafia wars, ect. ect. ect.  I don't have the interest or the time...  But remember I still love you all...
Comments:
Jessica Barber - Amen, sista.
August Trapper Bigelow - I don’t believe you. If you can’t love your farm, you can’t love your friends.
Kris Kemp-Erickson - That’s entirely un-true.  I love my friends and family, just not farmtown, yoville or any of the other online games out there.
Mary Kempton Kemp - You can hide them all from your feed, that’s what I do!

Sept. 30, 2009
Is excited we are going to St. George this weekend - yay!  I'm excited to see my family and hope to see some friends while I'm there...

It's a Boy!

Surprise we're having a boy! This was quite a shock for Mom. We were so sure this baby was going to be another girl. This ruined Mom's 100% score for being right on what her babies were going to be. We haven't decided on a name yet - since we don't know what he will look like. If he has brown hair his name will be Caden Robert. If he has red hair his name will be Jackson Vincent. Here is our newest little one's ultrasound pic's - enjoy!

Another Update (9-4-09)

So how goes things everyone? We are doing good (pretty much the same), but very good. Jason is still in school and doing very well. As for me (Kris) I am doing good, just being a wife and Mom. I am very happy I am halfway through this pregnancy, we should be able to find out at the end of this month what the sex is. We think it’s another girl, but we will find out (hopefully). Sydney is getting big she is now over 20 lbs. (finally) and now 1 ½ years old. She is getting big and is soooooo smart! She’s still not very big compared to other children, but is getting bigger none the less. I am sill considering going back to school and one day getting my bachelor’s degree in Business & later down the road Architectural Drafting and Interior Design. I may start school after all of our kids are in full-time school. We will see.

Well that’s about it with us. I’ll let you know when we have more news… Hope all is well with you and yours. Take care and bye for now!

Update 7/19/09

Hey gang, just thought I would update you all on what’s going on with us. Nothing much going on or new that is with us… lol We have some good news to report though. Jason is (hopefully) going to be done with school in March! He got an unofficial job offer from one of The Director of N.C.I.S. (out of San Diego) as a forensic examiner; he talks to him about twice a week. If any of you watch the TV show N.C.I.S. he would be doing a cross between what the characters “Abby and MaGee” do – he wouldn’t be a field agent or go into the Navy, just doing the forensic side of it as a civilian. He is very much considering it.

The best part is that he already works for a AccessData, which is the company that certifies most of the military, FBI and police stations for their forensic stuff. As most of you know he already does forensic support for the programs AccessData sells to all of the different agencies, so he has almost all of the training he would need to do the job with N.C.I.S. He would need to do one more training and do a test and then that puts him ahead of the competition, which is always good.

The Director really wants him to come and work for him and thinks he would do a great job! He still has to go through the regular channels and red tape just like everyone else, but he is really thinking about doing it. Where we will end up and when is still a mystery??? But for right now we are going to get him all done with school and while he’s doing that get him all set up with the training and test all done with his work and then go from there. It would most likely be somewhere in the western sea borders, i.e. Cali, Oregon, and possibly even Texas. We won’t know for sure until we get closer to him being done with school and if he decides to go after the job offer. We will let you know for sure what happens.

As for Kris - I am staying busy being a Wife and Mom. Being preggers is a trial, but it's not as bad as it was with Sydney so that's nice! I am due at the end of Jan. Sydney is getting bigger every day. She is now almost 17 months old. I can’t believe in Sept. she will be a 1 1/2 , wow time sure does fly!!! Anyways well that is what is new with us. Hope all is well with everyone else. We love you all; take care and bye for now.

I thought I would add what I say/post on facebook to a monthly post on our family blog.  That way for those of you who do not follow us on facebook you can still read what happens to us on a regular basis.

Some here's some things you might have missed on facebook.

June 13, 2009
Sydney gave us a scare today, we thought she swallowed a little plastic teddy bear, but we found it and so it all worked out.  Kids - can’t live Without them, but sometimes (well always) you wouldn't mind if they didn't scare you half to death.
Comments:
Jennifer Davis - Glad she’s ok
August Trapper Bigelow - WELL WHERE WAS IT?!
Kris Kemp-Erickson - None of your business (j/k), we found it in her room.

June 28, 2009
We had a great night last night.  Ate dinner at Olive Garden than went to see Transformers 2, it was a great night…  We haven’t done something like that for a long time.  I have a great husband!!!

Kristina Warner Wilkerson - That is so awesome. Kris how have you been
Jennifer Davis - Nifty! Has pest told you about Opt. Prime? It was a very cool talk.
Kris Kemp-Erickson - Kristina - I’ve been good, how about you?  Where are you guys now?  How many kids do you have now?  I have just the 1 ½ yr. old.  lol
Kris Kemp-Erickson - Jennifer - Nope he hasn’t told me about Opt. Prime, but I was glad how it turned out.  What was the talk about???
Jennifer Davis - It was during a certain baptism, it was an amazing talk.  Ask him about it
Kris Kemp-Erickson - Jennifer - Jason told me about the Opt. Prime story.  That is awesome!

Gonna Be A Daddy Again

Today I (Kris) told Jason he was going to be a Daddy again!  I told him  "Congrats!"  You're gonna be a Daddy again!  We had been trying for a couple of months and we were so excited when I became pregnant.

Luckily we didn't have to wait too long (yippee).  I had just found out that day and wanted to surprise Jason in a fun way.  I surprised Jason the first time he found out he was going to be a Daddy.  So I got him some balloons and the pregnancy test telling us I was pregnant and put them on his desk.  So when he got home from work he would see them when he walked into the office.  I followed him into the office and when he saw the stuff he turned around and kissed & hugged me.  He was so excited!!!

Another One For The Books

Here’s a pic. of a romantic night Jason had planned for us. We had a wonderful dinner Jason made and then dancing afterwards… He was very sweet to plan out a romantic dinner; which was very good all the while we listened to romantic music and then he slow danced with me.  Slow dancing is one of my (Kris's) favorite things to do.  Jason did a very good job on dinner and making things so nice and romantic for us.  Needless to say it was a very nice night - another one for the books!

Here’s Sydney trying on a new look. She's too cute...  This began her nickname of "Hat Girl".

Tent City Jail

Here's another story I (Kris) read on facebook and wanted to post it here on our family blog and what a great idea this would be if they did this all over the nation (weather permitted of course).

I’ve had many people say they want our state to run the jails this way and a big wish for all of the other states to do what JOE ARPAIO did; which was - creating the "Tent City Jail" - he was or still is the sheriff of Maricopa, AZ.

USA JAIL - SOME INTERESTING READING

TO THOSE OF YOU NOT FAMILIAR WITH JOE ARPAIO. HE IS THE MARICOPA COUNTY SHERIFF ( ARIZONA) AND HE KEEPS GETTING ELECTED OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

These are some of the reasons why:

Sheriff Joe Arpaio created the “Tent City Jail' to save Arizona from spending tens of millions of dollars on another expensive prison complex.

He has jail meals down to 20 cents a serving and charges the inmates for them.

He banned smoking and graphic magazines in the jails, took away their weightlifting equipment and cut off all but 'G' movies.

He said “They're in jail to pay a debt to society not to build muscles so they can assault innocent people when they leave”.

He started chain gangs to use the inmates to do free work on county and city projects and save taxpayer's money. Then he started chain gangs for women so he wouldn't get sued for discrimination.

He took away cable TV until he found out there was a federal court order that required cable TV for jails. So he hooked up the cable TV again, but only allows the Disney channel and the Weather channel.

When asked why the weather channel, he replied: “So they will know how hot it's gonna be while they are working on the chain gangs”.

He cut off coffee because it has zero nutritional value and is therefore a waste of taxpayer money. When the inmates complained, he told them, “This isn't the Ritz Carlton. If you don't like it, don't come back”.

He also pipes in lectures on choice and accountability and why they have a part as to why they are in jail in the first place.

With temperatures being even hotter than usual in Phoenix (116 degrees just set a new record for June 2nd 2007), the Associated Press reported: About 2,000 inmates living in a barbed wire surrounded tent encampment at the Maricopa County Jail have been given permission to strip down to their government-issued pink boxer shorts.

You could see hundreds of men wearing pink boxer shorts and overheard chatting in the tents, where temperatures reached 128 degrees.

They would say “This is hell”. It feels like we live in a furnace, said Ernesto Gonzales, an inmate for 2 years with 10 more to go. It is inhumane said Joe Arpaio, who makes his prisoners wear pink clothing, and eat bologna sandwiches, who is not one bit sympathetic. “Criminals should be punished for their crimes - not live in luxury until it's time for parole, only to go out and commit more crimes so they can come back to live on taxpayers money and enjoy things many taxpayers can't afford to have for themselves” said Joe Arpaio.

The same day he told all the inmates who were complaining of the heat in the tents, “It's between 120 to 130 degrees in Iraq and our soldiers are living in tents as well, and they have to walk all day in the sun, wearing full battle gear and get shot at, but they have not committed any crimes, so stop complaining”.

I have to say “Way to go, Sheriff!” If all prisons were like yours there would be a lot less crime and we would not be in the current position of running out of prison spaces.

Sheriff Joe was just re-elected as Sheriff in Maricopa County, Arizona and let’s hope he remains there…
